Therapy at your pace, in a relationship where you feel truly seen
What will therapy be like?
My way of working is person-centred and integrative, which means that our relationship is at the heart of the therapy, while I draw on different approaches depending on what feels helpful for you. Alongside talking therapy, our work may be informed by attachment theory, helping us understand how early relationships and experiences can shape the way you relate to yourself and others. Where it feels appropriate, we may also use body-based approaches to notice how feelings and experiences are held physically, as well as creative practices that can help you explore things that are difficult to express in words.
Therapy with me can be short-term, focusing on a particular experience, decision or difficulty, or longer-term, giving us space to explore deeper patterns, relationships, identity or past experiences. There is no fixed route or expectation about how quickly you should move. We will go at your pace, following what feels important to you and regularly checking that the therapy continues to meet your needs. You remain at the centre of the work, with choice over what we explore and how we approach it.
Most importantly, therapy with me is about creating a genuine relationship together: one in which you can feel treasured, seen, heard and valued. I aim to offer warmth, acceptance, curiosity and honesty, so that you do not have to perform, hide parts of yourself or become the person you think a therapist expects you to be. Through feeling deeply understood within the therapeutic relationship, you may begin to understand yourself with greater compassion, reconnect with parts of yourself that have been overlooked, and find ways of living that feel more authentic and meaningful.
